Credit builder questions, answered.

What’s a credit builder loan?

A credit builder loan is designed to help you build or rebuild credit as you make payments on time. We offer a few different options, and we’ll help you find one that makes sense for where you’re starting and what you’re working toward.

Will a credit builder loan improve my credit score?

That’s the goal, but everyone’s credit looks a little different, so we can’t promise a specific result. Making your payments on time can help build a stronger payment history and may improve your score over time.

Will someone help me understand my credit?

Absolutely. Credit can be confusing, and you don’t have to sort it out alone. One of our Certified Financial Counselors can answer your questions and help you find a next step that fits your situation. Reach out whenever you’re ready.

What will I need to apply?

For most loans, a few basics will get you going: a government-issued photo ID, your contact and employment information, and a sense of the amount you need to borrow are enough to start. Depending on the loan, we may ask for proof of income or a little more information. We’ll tell you exactly what you need along the way.

Wherever you’re starting, we’ll start there with you.
